Finally I have EQ6 installed and I have worked my way through the first lesson and watched the 'Getting Started' videos. So far, so easy. But I can see that I will be spending even more time on the 'puter and even less time at the machine! Aargh, there is no hope!!

Good luck with EQ -- for some reason I just cannot get into that program! I've bought it twice, and also all the suggested extra books EQ1 and EQ4. I usually am really good with computer programs but not EQ - have no idea why. I guess I like the actual touch and feel of the fabric.
I noticed when I designed in Quilt Pro, by the time I was through designing, I no longer wanted to actually MAKE the quilt. Any thoughts on this?

I love eq6 and before it eq5 - I very rarely use it to design a whole quilt but love to import a picture of a partly made quilt into the programme to design the borders around it - or draw up a new block to play with. Or even just draw an approximation of an idea for a quilt and play with colourings.
I'm going to get a new computer soon, but I've never had any quilt software before. I might have to try it and see if it suits me. I do like the old pencil and graph paper though, that's how most of my quilts get designed.

Time spent learning now will pay off in the long run. I can understand, though, how frustrating it is when you'd rather be in front of the sewing machine instead of the computer!
Oh, how fun. Congratulations! Just imagine the number of quilts you will be able to produce now, even if they are all digital!
